In the other Zones
‘Diversity’ is now everywhere. It requires us to transgress traditions and accept differences in nationality, ethnicity, culture, and race. However, many of us still create pain and suffering by building boundaries and judging others by our own standards.
How will diversity change our society in the future? How should we embrace and prepare ourselves for the change?
The APoV Conference <In The Other Zones> focuses on ‘diversity’ as the answer to the ‘diaspora’ that takes place at the clashing boundaries between the different standards each of us has.
WOO-GOING-YI-SAN
<Woo-Going-Yi-San>, the theme for the 2021 T&C APoV Conference, means ‘sympathy has the power to move mountains’. The conference asks us the following question: ‘What motivates us to take action?’
Sympathy is what drives action.
Join us at our conference <Woo-Going-Yi-San> as we discover the power of sympathy and the reason why we need it in our lives.
Bias, by us
Bias, by us was an online conference that was held during the Chuseok holidays in October, inviting 9 professors in the field of history and social studies and discussing 'How distorted empathy creates a society of hate.'
We had a chance to learn through 10 lectures and discussions, the mechanism of hate in history and modern society, when you do not take precaution against hate and control it. We analyzed empathy, along with hate, which is the other side of empathy, to find solutions for our society. By observing the historical patterns, we sought to find answers.
